I observed my very first Ruby-Throat hummer this evening and have seen him several times since. So happy to see them returning!! I also wanted to tell about the hummer I posted back in Jan of this year. I at first thought he was a Ruby-Throat, but after the sun came out on the 3rd day…..I got to see his colors well and saw a rusty looking color on him. I also observed him making a different chirping sound (different from the Ruby-Throats) and being very aggressive towards regular birds. Therefore, I believe he was a Rufous. First one I ever had!! He stayed for 5 days and then left.
