Our tulips emerged while we were on an overnight trip. Sadly, the deer also emerged from our neighboring forest to eat some of the tips of the leaves. As a result, we've put a fence around our tulip area. We've had a snowy and cold winter. The Monday after we made our observation, we had 7 inches of snow, which all melted away by the following Friday, when we made this photograph.
