Right after noon my brother saw a monarch NE of the cabin and
then a few minutes later we saw a monarch moving south then east
away from the cabin. We aren't sure these were the same monarch.
About 1:30 Altus and I watched a monarch just south of our RV moving
low and slow over the new milkweed sprouts to the east and down
into the pasture. About 2:45 I called Altus over to watch another
monarch on about the same path. It stopped about twenty-five
feet from the RV on a small plant ... I was able to look closely thru
binocs ... a large, faded female monarch. She stayed for a few
wing beats, took off, then serpentined to the east and disappeared
down in pasture. Windy ... 20 mph SE ... 78 dF.
