Austin Butterfly Forum held a field trip this morning in the Barton Creek Greenbelt just upstream from the Barton Springs Pool.

As we were walking out, someone spotted what was a first-of-the-year monarch for most of us.

The sighting was confirmed by Catalina Aguado.
