Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 03/22/2014

Number: 1

Heard several robins singing the other day. Warm spring weather has not arrived here on southern Vancouver Island. Still fairly cool cloudy rainy weather this month. Its more like late February-early March, except the days are longer and some tree blossoms are starting to show in the Cowichan Valley. Still had some snow on local mountains about a week ago. Lots of cold arctic air still mixing into the jet stream in the Pacific ocean. Very few southern air flows for migrating birds, but they have been slowly arriving. Birds have started to nest despite the weather.
