Sitting on the front porch swing about 1:30 this afternoon after working in the yard (varmint garden) a male ruby throat appeared all of a sudden at the hanging basket impatiens. My wife Michele told me to hurry up and make up some nectar. I did and now we have two feeders out and we're ready for more hummers. This is our first sighting of the season.
