Sightings report image

Date: 03/28/2014

Number: 1

So delighted to see the monarch early arrivals! Saw several today flying and nectaring on false garlic flowers (Nothoscordum bivalve) -- tiny members of the Lily Family -- and also blackberry blossoms. Because of seeing them I checked our pastures and found that the milkweed had finally begun to sprout! I did not find any laid eggs though. Here is a photo of one of the monarchs sipping from a false garlic flower in typical fashion!
