Saw 2 monarchs close together on CR 404 between Spicewood & Marble Falls. One was bright & fresh looking, the other a bit duller. Found no eggs yet on the milkweed plants I checked nearby. A few miles esrlier, I'd had one very dull monarch cross my path on Hwy 71, a mile or two west of the Pedernales River. Didn't get a chance to see if M/F. No eggs on plants I found on roadside.
I'd call this a very successful trip! Sure made me smile!!!
No eggs found yet on my potted milkweed in Austin. :( Will keep checking!
