We all still wore our coats, but it was the first day this year that the sun was urging us to remove them. We, the 10 and 11 year old class, brought our planting buddies, the 5 and 6 year old class, to see if any tulips had emerged. The forty students carefully circled the planting areas, then shouted with glee, "There's one!" and "There's more over here!" None 12 sighted tulips had emerged more than half an inch, but the thrill was huge!
