Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/03/2014

Number: 1

I turned to my picture window quickly having just seen him zoom by another window. We met face to face at the picture window. I think I startled him. I KNOW he startled me. He wheeled around and zipped out of my sight! What a thrill! I have had a few feeders out for a couple weeks, just in case. My daughter also saw him in the picture window. I have potted inpatiens and Calibrachoa out now as we have had some actual springtime weather. They will be on the kitchen table Friday night when we dip back into the 30's. We had a thunderstorm out of the southwest an hour and a half ago. Maybe he rode in on that! SO HAPPY TO SEE HIM. IT WAS A LONG WINTER!
