Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/04/2014

Number: 2

Today at 6:20pm CDT I saw my very first female ruby throat at my feeder. I have been having 2 males at my feeders since sat march 22. After the female ate, one of the males came to the feeder, she flew into a tree off of my front porch and as I watched, the male proceeded to do what looked like a courtship or mating type ritual sort of like a clock pendulum swinging and making high pitch noises, she just sat on a branch and watched! I am in hopes maybe this means a nest soon, although it seems still very chilly but I will hope!
