Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/05/2014

Number: 2

Early this morning, Hubby woke me to say he saw the first Hummer of 2014!!!
With the feeder filled we discovered, around 2:30 this afternoon, there were indeed 2 males. The scarlet honeysuckle is a treasured favorite of these creatures and has its first set of flowers, which...Is always a sure sign it will not be long before OUR family of Hummers will be busily buzzing about the property. Throughout blooming time the honeysuckle, growing up a rusty sculpture, it is alternately guarded by the dominate Hummer of the time.
Is a happy day today and we are looking forward to another wonderful season with our tiny-feathered friends.
