At 6:45 this evening we saw our first ruby-throated hummingbird (a male) this spring. He lit ever so briefly at the feeder at the living room window, then flew to the feeder at the kitchen window for just a second. He then flew into a nearby elm tree. This is the earliest in 8 years for our first hummer sighting. We had just put out our feeders yesterday which was later than we normally put them up. We are so thrilled and happy that they are back!!!
