I observed three Monarchs today within a 20 minute period beginning at 11am. Wings were moderately faded on each butterfly and one was a female. The other two were too far away to determine. All were flying from southwest to northeast close to the ground probably searching for milkweed. I was happy to see this many a short period of time. Temp was 70 degrees with mostly sunny skies and S-SW winds around 10 mph. Will check the local fields for milkweeds tomorrow.
