Virginia Living Museum staff reported seeing the first Asclepias tuberosa [butterflyweed] break ground in our milkweed bed at the Children's Learning Garden today. A few days later we noticed a common milkweed Asclepia syriaca sprout in the same bed.
The bistro is open, come on monarchs!
