first male ruby-throats of season were seen in late afternoon - first buzzed closely by me working in garden, straight to the feeder. thank you Journey North for postings on their progress - I saw a week ago they were in NJ, so I promptly prepared for their arrival (I estimate they are at least 2-3 weeks early compared to other years, it seems their natural food resources aren't even available yet - wonder if they are moving more quickly in hopes of locating food) at least 2 were around, one larger, one smaller...
