Sightings report image

Date: 04/13/2014

Number: 1

The monarchs have been coming in good numbers this spring and our fields have an abundance of native milkweed and nectar wildflowers. The milkweed nursery in our pastures is very full of eggs and larvae. Currently the larvae range from newborn to 4th instars, with most being 1st and 2nd instars. This is a photo of a healthy 4th instar larva enjoying a snack of milkweed blossoms.
