We have a mature male rufous and two female rufous birds who are now feeding at my feeders. The male vies for top bird spot with the 3 Anna's males who have over wintered here in Vancouver. This is the first year in at least 4 that I've been blessed with Rufous birds. When I first started feeding Hummingbirds, there were only Rufous birds at the feeders. Gradually they disappeared, and only year round Anna's remained. So I feel very lucky to have both species. I am still feeding at a 1 - 2.5 mixture, as I am sure I've had some migrating birds as well.
