Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/16/2014

Number: 1

This morning at 7:15am I saw my first Ruby Throated Hummingbird which was looking for where I normally hang a feeder. I had brought my feeder in last night due to possibly freeze. I have had a feeder out since the first of the month to see if any activity or migration happening in the area. Normally my first visitor would be a Baltimore Oriole at the feeder. I was surprised when I saw the hummingbird. Out the door I put my feeder back up on the hook. I will keep a closer eye on my feeder now since hummingbirds in the past have visited my feeders in the early Spring mornings and late in the evening. This is a sure sign that Spring is here as flowering shrubs are blooming along with Tulips, Daffodils, Hyacinths, Crocus' and more.
