Today I didn't get much of a chance to check the milkweed in our pastures, but I did see monarchs flying and egg-laying during the morning and in the afternoon. It was a lovely warm day, partly cloudy, with temperatures around 75 degrees F. It is always interesting to see what flowers the monarchs choose to nectar on. This is photo of a monarch nectaring on a small bloom on a multi-bloom vine that I believe is a butterfly pea flower - not certain of that. It went from one lavender bloom to another for some minutes and I was able to snap a quick photo.
