Tulips BLOOMED
Sightings report image

Date: 04/11/2014

Number: 1

Northern Virginia has had a terribly cold winter! We even have had snow the beginning of April.
Our students have been patiently waiting for our tulips to bloom. Due to the cold they started to emerge then it seemed that their growth was stunted. We usually have high rates of success with our tulips each year. Most emerge and bloom. This year many didn't even emerge. We also had a lot of tulips that emerged and started to bloom but then were killed quickly by late frosts!
