Lake Flower
located near Saranac Lake, New York

"The giant chair sank Sunday, signifying that winter's ice is officially out of Lake Flower.

The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce uses the huge wooden chair in an annual contest in which people guess the date and time the chair will fall into the lake's Pontiac Bay, near the dock of the Adirondack Motel. The time is marked with a clock attached to the chair. When the clock is submerged, it stops working.

This year's was frozen at 2:15 p.m., and about 35 seconds."
