So excited...out in the garden laying compost and heard the familiar buzzing. And there it was, a Rufous came into sight and perched in the crab apple tree right above me and then flew to my feeder hanging on the arbor in the garden, took a sip and buzzed off. Last year I saw my first hummer on April 28th so just one day earlier this year. I put 4 feeders up about a week ago and changed the solution yesterday so that was good timing. Always a thrill to see my first one of the season. It's supposed to go to 30 deg tonight but it will find a warm spot to roost.
