A robin nested on top of my mailbox (affixed to the house) and next to the front door. I taped the mailbox shut. Postal carriers are cooperating by leaving mail in an adjacent basket marked as "temporary mail box." She flies off and watches from about 20 feet away when we enter and exit. There were originally four eggs, but yesterday (4/28/14) I noticed that one was broken on the ground under the nest.
