Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/29/2014

Number: 1

My monarch observations for this month.
I have had sightings of monarchs everyday this month. My first sighting & eggs were on April 1st.
Maybe 2 to 3 monarchs a day.Haven't noticed any fresh looking monarchs yet. Hopefully soon, though.
It's been 4 days since a female has laid eggs in my garden. One male is here flying around the milkweed patch.
It was a chilly start to spring, after the middle of April things have warmed up.The native milkweeds are looking good,we've had a good amount of rain this month.
I know the tropical milkweed isn't native to US, I lost a lot of them that have been in the ground for 3 years or more.We had a really cold winter. They are still struggling to grow, very slow to take off.
