Have had 5 black chinned Hummingbirds feeding and competing for 1 female. I have observed their courtship. The male will fly right in front of the female back and forth. This fast flying back and forth makes a certain pitch sound. Sometimes the male will fly very high and swoop down by the female. This also has a high pitch sound. But so far I haven't seen them mate.
