Monarch (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 04/27/2014

Number: 1

This is a second photo showing a male monarch nectaring on Self-Heal flowers (Prunella vulgaris) which are blooming abundantly right now. Though it can't be seen from this photo quite as well as on the first one I posted for this date, his wings are a bit faded and slightly tattered at the edges. He spent about 20 minutes going from one group of Self-Heal lavender flowers to the next -- leading me on a merry chase as he went!
