The day started off cool but temperatures reached into the low 80's in the afternoon on a cloudy day. I did a brief checking in the fields and still found some caterpillars of all sizes & some eggs on the milkweed. The wildflowers are still abundant with the grasses of various types growing tall. This is a photo of a small 2nd instar munching on the bud of an Asclepias viridis milkweed flower. Having his milkweed and eating it too!
