Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 05/06/2014

Number: 1

today, i witnessed four more sick butterflies. of these, the bad three i put in a bag and put in freezer. it was painful to do but they couldnt fly. a male, who had its chrysalis stuck to its back, i removed and it flitted off. not very gracefully though. very small part of its lower left wing was wilted. and its abdomen had no white marks on it at all. so i think it was an OE again. but I'm not 100% positive (but pretty sure based on the evidence via internet i'm reading)... so i couldnt find the nerve to kill it. it flew off. i figure it won't be mating with a female... i might see it around.

MEANWHILE, the male butterfly that eclipsed on saturday May 3, whom we call Macho, is fliting around like crazy looking for butterflies to mate. unfortunately the only one we have in yard is the female that i believe is OE positive but flying okay. i am disturbed watching this since it is spreading the OE...
not sure what to do.
i wonder if HE has OE too.. he is too quick for me to look at his abdomen to see if its black/white striped like supposed to be.
