Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/09/2014

Number: 2

I walked down the stone steps from the back yard at dusk and turned to see a male ruby throat hummingbird feeding off my holly tree flowers just a few feet away. He was quite bold as he knew I was there. A female was sitting at my feeder. She sat there for 7+ minutes. I slowly moved away to allow them to feed. I saw the male move to my crabapple tree and continue feeding. It was unusual that one wasn't chasing the other away as they normally do so wonder if these two are courting.
