Our first tulip bloomed on April 24, 2014. The following two weeks many additional tulips followed. The tulips that were planted further east bloomed first. One of the tulips appeared in a location where I do not believe we had any planted. Perhaps a student planted it in a location where they were not supposed to plant it or perhaps a squirrel dug one up and replanted it elsewhere. The tulips that first emerged and first bloomed have been beaten up by heavy rains we have had, while the tulips that emerged and bloomed later seem to have more successfully battled mother nature. I hope our principal will allow us to plant the tulips again next fall and that we will plant more tulips than we did this past fall, so our planting area looks more colorful.
