My husband and I hung two flowering Fuschia hanging baskets in our backyard on Saturday 5/3/14. We hung them side by side with a Hummingbird feeder (red glass bottle type) in the middle. On Sunday 5/4/14 my husband was mowing the lawn in the afternoon. He stopped and sat down on the deck's bench (which happens to be in front of the flowers and feeder) to drink water when he heard a humming type sound coming from behind his ear. When he turned around, it was a little hummer. My husband's uprupt movement scared it away and it flew and perched on one of our trees. About 5 min. later, it came down and fed on our flowers and feeder. It was incredible to see. We still can't believe it. We have not seen it since Sun. May 4th as we both work and get home late. But, everyday I come home and check the feeder, and everyday the water level on the feeders goes down. I know this because I mark the water level on the feeder with a yellow rubberband. So it must be coming back to feed. I can't wait till this weekend. I am going to sit out on the deck all day to see if I see it again. So excited!!!
