Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/08/2014

Number: 1

First Hummingbird this year, and our first male. We had three hummers last year, but couldn't tell if they were all females or some being immature youngsters. No mature males at all last year.

This male was first sighted at the feeder at 6:11 p.m., and then two more times after that in approximately 20 minute intervals.

This exciting for me and my wife since we had never seen a male before. We have two feeders now, and have set up our garden near our deck with "attracting" flowers and butterfly bushes.

Next time I'll have a photo uploaded. We just wanted to watch!!
