Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/09/2014

Number: 1

Still have 1 Ruby-throat female that looks like a first year one. I would like to rely what Gary Clark naturalist and columnist for the Houston Chronicle relayed about a hummingbird in Houston in May:

Hey Beverly, (Houston)
Could be a late migrating bird, a lingering bird, an over-summering bird, or a breeding female. Hard to know at this time of year. We just began seeing a male and female at our feeders, and we suspect (hope?) they’re breeding.Gary Clark
