The huge area of ice in the channel has broken free from shore and travelled away from us. Ice is still moving past the house from upstream but on a day like today (19C), a LOT of it is going to melt. The were several seagulls that were taking the slow tour down the channel, while resting on the ice. A Common Loon, which arrived yesterday has been feeding alongside the ice flows. Must be good fishing there!
