Bald Eagle

Date: 05/09/2014

Number: 1

I have actually seen a young bald eagle May 9-11.
May 9th - Observed the bald eagle in a snag evergreen tree - he appeared to be looking for food but I observed all the baby ducks and goslings were hidden away in the marsh after the geese called an alarm as they sighted the bald eagle. Then crows and bluebirds were harassing and dive-bombing the bald eagle to get him to leave. He finally did fly away without getting anything to eat.
May 10th - I observed the bald eagle being chased by a crow and other small black bird away from the aforementioned area and over a pond further away.
May 11th - I observed the bald eagle swoop down at least twice to a group of baby ducks and a mama duck. I could not determine if the bald eagle was successful but it did not come back for another try.
