Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/12/2014

Number: 1

It is 8:21 and my first, sighting was just made. It is very cold out and grey and cloudy. A very small male appeared and is just sitting in the cold and dusk soon to be dark at the feeder. He seems to have no desire to move. He is just sitting and so very tiny. I waited and watched all day yesterday as they for the past three years always arrived on Mothers Day. He is one day late. My concern is our unusual cold and terrible weather this year. My two most favorite things are my hummingbirds and May Flowers in Nova Scotia, and my Papillion who loves those hummies as much as I. So thankful for this amazing little bird that brings the greatest of joy to our hearts. The feeders will be lovely cleaned and cared for to keep these sweeties safe for as long as they grace us with their time here.
