I was astonished to see a F Monarch Butterfly at Kenesserie Tallgrass Prairie today at 4:10 PM. She was in beautiful shape. She was a delight to see after such a prolonged winter. Her wings looked as fresh as hand-picked daisies.
Weather today in Southern Ontario was brilliant sunshine, air temp 83 deg. F. I was close enough to confirm she was a F Monarch and not a Queen or Viceroy.
She was flittin' around looking for MW. MW at Kenesserie is 2-3" high. Unfortunately my camera batteries died about a 1/2 hour before I sighted her so no photo (sigh).
