Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/10/2014

Number: 3

Two male appeared in our yard on May 10 ... they seemed a bit thin and less active. As time passes, they seemed to have become more and more active. Today, May 13, we saw one good size female at the feeder ... often chased by the the male (not sure which one) whenever she was drinking the sugar water. One particular male would even perched on top of the feeder or right underneath for quite some time ... seemingly being territorial. There is only one feeder for now. We usually would have two ... but right now one pole has a feeder up for the Baltimore Oriole that also showed up at our home on May 10.
