On So West Lep@yahoogroups.com Ken Davenport, a high experienced lepidopterist, reported seeing a monarch from his car at Riverkern, about 4 miles north of the town of Kernville. He said the butterfly appeared in good condition which likely means it was a new generation monarch (first generation offspring of the overwintered monarchs).
