We were working out in the yard this afternoon and my husband yelled for me to come. He wasn't sure if it was a monarch or a viceroy. I got there and it was indeed a monarch. I couldn't tell if it was a male or female because it started flying around once I started getting closer. It was on a peony bush and took off towards our garden, where there's plenty of nectar and some milkweeds just beginning to emerge.
