OVER 12 ARCTIC TERNS of KETTLE POINT. 16/5 .

As unlikely as it seems, because Arctics follow the east and western coastlines, there were at least 12 off Kettle Point this morning.

There are several Forsters, and Common Terns and 2 Little Gulls but this mornings highlight were the 12 or more ARCTIC TERNS feeding just off Kettle Point Today.

I think that they were guided into the Gulf and prevented by the Hurricane just off-shore from moving East wards back into the Atlantic. With no chance of following the coastline, they took the easiest route and continued northwards and ended in our Gt. Lakes.

The current strong northerly winds are holding them here today. I can not predict what will happen tomorrow but the wind has not changed as of 20.00hrs. this evening. Kettle Point is just off Highway 21 just south of Forest.
