The milkweed here around Bloomington emerged this year about the last week of April. Our spring has been on the cool side this year. Another female monarch laying eggs today (5/21). I followed her to verify that it was a female, and observed her depositing eggs on A. syriaca. She was vibrant in color and single minded in her determination. Do you think she is second generation?
