I couldn't believe it when I first saw a butterfly in the back yard, but it came by a second time and looked very much like a monarch. I was not close enough to verify that it was a monarch for certain, but seeing that there have been local sightings (St Paul), I'm guessing it was. Sadly, no milkweed is up and nectar plants aren't flowering yet.
