Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/25/2014

Number: 1

Observed a female Monarch laying eggs at a patch of milkweed growing in front of our barn. She very carefully deposited at least 10 eggs. We collected them for rearing and summer/fall breeding/tagging. We were so concerned that there would be no Monarchs this year....so happy to see this one!!! We will be adding to the population again this summer.
