Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/27/2014

Number: 1

Saw first pristine Monarch flitting around on a parkway on the SW side of 93 and Hamilton(?) by Festival/cinema/Youngsteads!!! Sooooo exciting!!! 77F (79F with heat index), 9mph winds, and overcast. I still haven't seen any Milkweed--I checked over @ Lowes Creek County Park (where I normally see it first) on Sunday afternoon and ~nothing~. We had a good soaking rain -t-storm last night/early this morning, so that may have changed things. Sunday I also found one Painted Lady egg, and yesterday saw three more. :-) Yesterday and today, I also saw Tiger Swallowtails. :-)
