Sightings report image

Date: 05/28/2014

Number: 1

It's been two days since I last checked the blackberry patch. Rain all day yesterday; today was a gorgeous blue sky high 70's day.
Saw one female laying eggs about 2:30pm before she headed into the woods for a siesta. Photographed her and some of her eggs.
The blackberry patch always seems to be just a little bit earlier than my other common milkweed. Since Sunday there has been an explosion of milkweed growth, from six plants to several dozen, some nearly a foot high.
Photo is a montage of today's pictures.
