Right when we walked outside we saw lots of red! But... we also noticed that some of our tulips that had sprouted were now missing the flower! We wondered what had happened. We did some research and found out that it was probably squirrels that ate some of our blossoms. What a bummer! Next year we plan to spray deer repellent to protect the blossoms. After they blossomed we had A LOT of rain, and we worried about root rot and hard rains destroying the petals. It turns out that the kids should have been worried about their teacher, because I sat on one of the tulips when I was trying to take a picture and destroyed it (oops!). When the tulips were open we saw yellow, purple, and black colors inside, and we saw dark pollen.
