Robin (Nesting Behavior)

Date: 05/29/2014

Number: 1

Happy birthday little robins! Exactly 14 days after the first egg was laid, we have 1 or 2 hatchlings. Difficult to see how many, even though the nest is on the sill outside the master bedroom 2/12 floors high. 2 of 4 eggs are gone. I see a breathing lump of feathers, 2 feet and a small beak. They are very weak, but adorable. Not at all ugly, like the ones pictured on line. They are complrtely covered with downy feathers. I did not have much hope for hatching, since the mother began laying her eggs at the beginning of a 3 day frost warning and did not incubate much until the fourth egg was laid. I wonder if the remaining two will hatch?
