2pm, sunny, slight breeze, temperature in low 70’s, butterfly flying across suburban lawns
I know it wasn't a comma or admiral, but I wasn't close enough to it to be sure it was a monarch. In my 25 years of watching monarch larvae go thru their life cycle here in Syracuse I've never seen a viceroy. But it did seem @ 3 weeks early for monarchs to arrive here, I haven't found any eggs on my milkweed leaves this year, but I never found any eggs in 2013.
